1. Information We Collect

Waterlyo is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal information:

Hydration data you enter (drink types, amounts, timestamps) — stored locally on your device only.
Profile data you provide (body weight, activity level) — used only to calculate your personalized goal, stored locally on your device.
App preferences and settings — stored locally on your device.
Anonymous crash reports — if you opt in via iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS system settings, Apple may send crash logs to us through App Store Connect. These contain no personal or health data.

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, or any other personal identifying information unless you explicitly provide it when contacting our support.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide the features of the app on your device:

Calculate your personalized daily hydration goal.
Display your daily progress, history charts, and streak tracking.
Send local hydration reminder notifications — processed entirely on your device.
Sync water intake data to Apple Health (only if you grant permission).

We do not use the hydration or health data you enter for advertising or profiling. Advertising services may process device identifiers, consent status, ad interactions, and technical diagnostics according to your device settings and applicable consent choices.

3. Data Storage & Security

All your hydration data is stored in a database local to your device. Lyónsoft does not operate servers that store your health or personal data.

Data is stored using iOS/iPadOS secure storage mechanisms and Apple Watch storage for watchOS features.
We do not operate any backend servers that receive your hydration records.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

4. Apple Health Integration

Waterlyo can optionally read from and write to Apple Health (HealthKit) to sync your water intake data. When enabled:

Waterlyo writes your logged water intake to your personal HealthKit database.
Lyónsoft does not have access to your HealthKit data — it stays entirely on your device and iCloud account.
You can revoke HealthKit permission at any time via iOS/iPadOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Waterlyo.
Disabling Health sync does not delete previously synced data from Apple Health; you can remove it manually from the Health app.

HealthKit data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

Waterlyo may use Apple services such as App Store, HealthKit, StoreKit, App Store analytics, and device privacy settings. It may also use Google Mobile Ads, Firebase, and related consent or ad measurement services to support the free version of the app.

These services are governed by their respective privacy policies and your system-level privacy choices. Your hydration records and Apple Health data remain controlled by your device, Apple Health, and your Apple account permissions.

6. Analytics

We may use aggregated App Store analytics and limited Firebase or ad performance diagnostics to understand app reliability, installs, purchases, and ad delivery. These analytics are not used to read your hydration records or Apple Health data.

7. Children's Privacy

Waterlyo is a general health and wellness app suitable for all ages. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since all data is stored locally on the device and no account is required, the app is safe for family use. Parents are encouraged to supervise app usage for younger children.

8. Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you maintain full control:

Access: All your data is visible within the app at any time.
Deletion: Delete individual drink logs within the app, or delete the app entirely to erase all data.
Health data: Manage or remove synced data directly in the Apple Health app.

If you have concerns about data shared during support interactions (e.g., via email), contact us and we will delete it upon request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notification or App Store release notes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
