Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Lineage Keeper, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The service

Lineage Keeper lets you create family spaces, record people and relationships, view a basic family tree, keep Gregorian and Vietnamese lunar anniversaries where supported, record memorial and grave details, attach selected local media, and create local backups or reports. The current project targets Android, iOS/iPadOS, macOS, and Windows. Features, platform availability, and release timing may change.

3. Local data and backups

The current MVP is local-first and does not provide accounts, cloud sync, collaborative editing, or automatic remote backup. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for choosing safe destinations when saving or sharing JSON, ZIP, CSV, or PDF files. Exported files may contain sensitive family information and are not application-level encrypted or password-protected by the current app.

4. Memorial locations and maps

You may enter an address or coordinates for a memorial place and choose to open that saved information in an external Maps app. Lineage Keeper does not provide embedded maps, current-location tracking, route planning, or a guarantee that an external map service will display the location accurately. You are responsible for reviewing the destination before relying on it.

5. Pro purchases

Lineage Keeper may offer an optional one-time Pro upgrade through Apple App Store or Google Play on supported platforms. Purchases, prices, availability, restore behavior, refunds, and payment processing are governed by the applicable store's terms. Windows purchase support is not available in the current MVP. Pro features and limits may change before or after release.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not use the app to violate applicable law or another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights.
• Do not use a memorial address, family record, photo, or report in a way you are not authorized to use.
• Do not attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer, abuse, or bypass the app's security, purchase, or platform systems.
• Do not represent the app as a source of official genealogical, legal, medical, cemetery, or location authority.

7. Accuracy and availability

Lineage Keeper is a record-keeping utility, not professional genealogical, legal, medical, cemetery, or mapping advice. Lunar-date calculations, relationship views, PDF/CSV output, saved coordinates, and external map results should be reviewed by you. We work to keep the app reliable, but device storage, operating-system behavior, file permissions, external services, and platform limitations may affect availability.

8. Changes and termination

We may update the app and these Terms when the product or applicable requirements change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. You may stop using the app and delete it from your device at any time. Local data and exported copies may remain wherever you chose to save them until you remove those copies.
